scale of length list of solver choices

SPM Simulator : question for solver selection page(01)

You have to select an scale of length on which you want to simulate in this page.
Select either the micrometre scale or the angstrom scale.
When you select the micrometre scale, constituent material for a tip and that of a sample are treated as continuous mediums on simulation.
When you select the angstrom scale, motion of each atom in molecules or in a crystal is taken into account on simulation.

How much scale do you want to simulate AFM(Atomic Force Microscopy) on?
Select one from two contents below.

micrometre scale

We simulate AFM observation on the micrometre scale.
A sample and a tip is regarded as continua on simulation.
Suitable for a simulation on a molecular scale or on a more larger scale.
The followings are cited as examples. Bio-based materials, such as Polymers, DNAs, and proteins and semiconductor devices on the micrometre scale.
Simulation is based on a method of classical physics.

angstrom scale

We simulate AFM observation on the angstrom scale.
Motion of each atom is focused on simulation.
Suitable for simulation of a system consists of several small molecules or a system of a crystal lattice.
You can select either a method of classical physics or that of quantum theory for simulation.

A symbol of a position where trouble occurs will be inserted into the subject of the mail.
